Jamie Little: Absolutely. MJ's happiness is genuine. I always emphasize to fans that this isn't a recent development or a business decision. Growing up in North Carolina, his parents would take him to racetracks, instilling a lifelong love for NASCAR. Now, as a successful team owner, he's reaping the rewards of his dedication. JL: Interestingly, I didn't know about his reputation during his playing days. But recently, multiple people have approached me, saying he was tough with reporters back then. He chooses who he trusts, and that's who he opens up to. I'm humbled to be that person.
FOS: Talladega seems to be a turning point. Can you elaborate?
JL: Absolutely. Two years ago, no one could get an interview with him during the broadcast. After Tyler Reddick's win at Talladega, I approached MJ, and he warmly embraced me. I asked for an on-camera interview, and he agreed. It was a significant moment for the sport. Last year, we had another great interview before the race. And this year, at the Daytona 500, my producer informed me that MJ specifically requested me for an interview. It's been an incredible journey.
FOS: Can a celebrity owner like Jordan significantly impact NASCAR's popularity?
JL: Undoubtedly. This morning, my social media feed was filled with headlines about Jordan, and my interview was featured.
