The $19.9 million investment, funded by the former Provincial Growth Fund, aims to create a green hydrogen facility that will supply renewable electricity to Ballance Agri-Nutrients' Kapuni facility through four towering 206-meter wind turbines. This initiative also includes the production of green hydrogen for emissions-free transport at Hiringa Energy's refuelling operations, offering a cleaner alternative for the region's transportation needs.

However, the High Court and subsequently the Court of Appeal ruled against the appeal, paving the way for the project's construction to begin this month.
